New Jersey’s state finances are in crisis, ranked dead last among all U.S. economies for fiscal health. According to new reports, our government doesn’t have enough money to meet its obligations due to mounting debts and long-term retiree liabilities.

Despite generating revenue consistently, New Jersey carries over $200 billion in unpaid bills, including massive unfunded pension and healthcare liabilities. That’s nearly $65,000 owed by each taxpayer, earning our state an “F” rating. We also endure some of the highest household and tax burdens nationwide. New Jersey ranks among the top 3 most expensive states to live in, with property taxes alone at 2.23%, the highest in America!

Marty and Joe will cut wasteful “Pork” from the state budget, bringing back the bacon to LD-14 residents! They will also rein in the reckless tax hikes New Jersey has seen by helping the Governor rework the School Funding Formula to lower costs for education and other state institutions. Marty and Joe will push for balanced budgets, structural reforms, and accountability, ensuring New Jersey’s finances work for residents, not against them. Fiscal sanity should be our future!

Districts in Mercer and Middlesex Counties are underfunded, while others receive disproportionate aid, leaving many schools stretched thin and families frustrated.

Marty and Joe will fight to fully fund public schools by working with legislators and the Governor reworking the School Funding Formula to ensure fairness, equity, and quality education for every student, regardless of ZIP code. They also understand that college isn't the only path to success. That’s why they’ll champion the expansion of vocational and technical education, supporting programs like Mercer County Technical School and Middlesex County Magnet Schools, so students can graduate with real skills, real jobs, and real futures. Every student deserves a high-quality education and a pathway to opportunity!

New Jersey is experiencing a rise in crime, and our communities are feeling the impact. From car thefts to violent crime, families deserve to feel safe in their neighborhoods again. But many of our local law enforcement agencies are stretched thin and under-resourced.

Marty and Joe stand proudly with our law enforcement officers. They will fight to provide more funding for local departments, modern training programs, and updated equipment, so our police can do their jobs safely and effectively. They believe in supporting the men and women who protect our communities, not vilifying them.
